Boozin at the apartment...

Saturday, April 30, 2005  > Trackback URL
So it was Friday night, I wasn't skiing Saturday and Rusty, Charlie, Steve and the Duke were going to be around. This spells bad news. We immediately got over 100 wings and a keg and started to do a power hour at Shenanigans. Well, it wasn't really a power hour, it was more like a power 76 minutes. Yeah, we're that hardcore.

[Steve and Rusty start laughing their ass off when one of them farts.]

[Charlie went to the shitter during a power hour, so while he was gone we just started lining up the shots for when he came back.]

[Rusty goes to town during a power hour.]

[Rusty poses in front of my puke. Let me explain this one, I had 20+ wings and couldn't hold any booz in so I pulled the trigger, ha.]

[Charlie, great pic.]

[Charlie wonders where his beer has gone, note the empty wings container.]

Digital, fix my computer!

 > Trackback URL
Ok everyone...
Chances are, if you're a friend of mine you've asked me at some point to fix your busted ass computer. Well, I just don't have time to rush out to your apartment / parents house / dorm room to do this anymore. That is why I am introducing you to a new service called MyWebExPC. This is from the folks at WebEX, the industry leader in remote support and meeting services.

All you have to do is visit www.mywebexpc.com and sign up for their services with your e-mail address and complete the very simple registration and setup process. Then if you ever have a problem with your computer you can grant me access so I can remotely control it from my laptop, desk, pdaphone or wherever I may be. If you're worried that I will be able to access your computer whenever I want you can calm down because it has all sorts of approval and security shit so you can approve my connection if you are sitting at your desk.

Best of all, it is 100% completely free and it lets me diagnose the problems with your computer from the comfort of my couch. So if you're going to bother me with technical support questions the least you could do is sign up for MyWebExPC and make it easy for me.

Ohh yeah, one more cool thing. If you sign up for MyWebExPC you can get access to your computer from any other computer in the world. That means you could be at your friends house a million miles away from your computer and still log in as long as they have a high speed net account. Sa-weeeeet.

For those of you feeling literate you can read the .pdf document on all of this.

4 New Prescriptions!

Wednesday, April 27, 2005  > Trackback URL
Usually this time of the year I get my ass kicked by allergy season. Most people get runny noses, occasionally sneeze and have mild discomfort. Those people are pussies, I get ear/nose/throat infections because my allergies get so bad! It usually sidelines me for 1-3 weeks depending on how bad the season is going. This year has been particularly awful.

So I went to the doctor today and he gave me 4 new prescriptions on top of my existing allergy medication refills. Wow, this is going to be an exciting week of medicine head and groggyness. Whoah, check out the slip on the right, I'm on steroids too! Fantastic!

Singulair, Zyrtec, Flonase, Ocuhist, Albuterol Inhaler and some Prednisone. Take that allergies!

Make your pc suck a little less.

Tuesday, April 26, 2005  > Trackback URL
Ok everyone, you all know that I love my MAC, it doesn't ever fuck up, it never gets a virus, it has no fucking clue was spyware is and it just runs day in and day out. The one problem is that I'm forced to work on a Windows machine for almost the entire day and usually by 9:15 in the morning I am missing my mac. Well, here's one way to make your PC suck just a little bit less. Install TopDesk!

For those of you that have ever used OSX you know of a cool feature called Expose. You simply move your mouse to a corner of the screen and Expose goes to work and resizes and shows you every open window you have on your computer. This used to be a feature reserved for OSX but now thanks to Otaku software (yeah, sounds real American) you can download TopDesk and have this kickass feature on your pc compy.

Here are a few images on how this bad larry works. It is pretty slick, not quite as good as the way that Apple does it, but then again nobody is as good as Apple.

Download TopDesk for free & get more information.

Porter's 15 seconds of fame.

Sunday, April 24, 2005  > Trackback URL
Here's Chris Porter, showing us how to be a rockstar.
Chris is in the Laura Glyda Band along with Joe Sullivan (Aloha Joe), Laura Glyda and Dave Traver. These guys had a show at Providence College today for their big Earth Day / Weekend celebration. It was quite interesting, there were these hippie - earthy - crunchy granola chicks that were making organic recycled paper. Seriously, these chicks knew how to party. While the LGB was up rocking their fucking socks off on stage these Stevie Nicks hippie dressing granola freaks were seriously eating granola and making paper. Wow, they sure do know how to party.

If this was Assumption and the LGB was rocking out the Spring weekend people would be hammered off of their asses, rocking out to the music and buying copious amounts of LGB merchandise. What is wrong with the kids at PC?! It is totally cool and all to care for the Earth, just get your freakin priorities straight. When you've got a quality rock band on stage playing their tits off you don't pull a table up to the front and start making paper.

Jesus.

Oh shit, I forgot about Earth day.
I would suggest that everyone get up off their asses, put down the tivo remote and venture into the great outdoors... You know, actually go outside.

While you're outside I would suggest doing someting to celebrate Earth Day, like club a baby seal to death and then smoke down a marb-light like this guy!

Here's to you Earth Day, sorry about forgetting all about you. With all the planning I've been doing for Arbor Day it must have slipped my mind.

And as a public service, here are some other holidays that you may forget about!
  • Flag day.
  • Arbor day.
  • Secretary's day.
  • Grandparent's day.
  • Kwanzaa.

Happy Birthday Caitlin! Now to get her a gift...

 > Trackback URL
Well, today is my sisters birthday. Happy 18th Caitlin, and for those of you celebrating her non-jail-bait-ness can just go to hell, go to hell and die.

So, in keeping with the last minute tradition of gift giving I am going to need some help picking out some gifts for her birthday. Here are some of the ideas that were going through my head this morning when I realized that I must gift her with something...

Idea #1: A smoking monkey.
While the idea of having a pet that smokes down cigarettes is a fantastic idea, I think that the smoking monkey, let's call him Furious George, would ultimately kill Leroy. Since Leroy has some sort of seniority in the pet heirarchy of the Amirault roost I am going to say that Furious George is a long shot at this point.

Who am I kidding, I just wanted a picture of a smoking money in the blog.

Advantages: Can train monkey to do your unholy bidding.
Disadvantages: Monkey will die of lung cancer, will kill leroy, may throw feces at you.

Idea #2: Pope JP Ornaments.
Man, these would begreat. Imagine this set of three JP ornaments. The creepiest thing ever is the first pope ornament on the left. Look at the little girl that the pope is holding, she looks terrified!

Advantages: A bargain at $13.99! Won't kill Leroy.
Disadvantages: No kung fu grip, not poseable.

Idea #3: A wheel of cheese.
I wonder how you wrap a gift like this? While this gift doesn't serve any function like the other gifts it would be hilarious to unwrap and see the look on her face. It would be a pretty lame gift unless I sprinkled some cash on it. Then again, she could roll it around like a spare tire and that would be hilarious. Roll it down a big flight of stairs and watch it explode on something.

Advantage: I'd laugh my ass off giving someone a wheel of cheese.
Disadvantage: The gift sucks.

Idea #4: The Jesus Toothbrush
Caitlin loves unusual gifts and this is just about as unusual and Asian as it gets. Imagine a Jesus toothbrush, man that is money. It even comes with this hella cool plastic glass/container thing that you can drink liquids out of. Knowing Caitlin this would turn into her "crunk cup" for college and she'd drink cheap vodka out of it for her entire freshman year.

Advantage: This gift is so Asian it hurts.
Disadvantage: Cait already has a toothbrush, it is a Sonicare and it costs a fortune.

Well, I'm not really sure what else to get her. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Post some comments you whores.

Anonymous Anonymous : i'm all set with the itrip you got me. but then again... jesus crunk cup...

Blogger Dave Amirault : Damn right, the itrip is a sweet gift!

Random thoughts, MMP needs a chopper.

Wednesday, April 20, 2005  > Trackback URL
Random thought...
MMP is the nastiest form of entertainment around. Seriously, I update more frequently than MSNBC or CNN.com. Maybe I should get a chopper, all the major news sources have some sort of rapid transport!. I highly doubt that a hooked up Ford Focus counts as "rapid transport".

You guys need to buy more shirts from the online store so I can afford the MMP Chopper. I promice plenty of birds-eye boob shots. Seriously, think of the potential MMP could have if I was whizzing around in this bad larry.
  1. I could get to parties 100x faster and take more pics for you.
  2. You can't get a DUI in a chopper. What cop can pull a chopper over?
  3. Friends can get chopper rides.
  4. If I had a good enough zoom lens I could get a million boob shots from thousands of feet up.
  5. Ladies, mile high club!
  6. I could throw change out of the copter from 10,000 feet and blog it.
  7. I could put the sickest rims on it.

I'm gonna start a referral program so I can afford this thing. If you refer one person to the MMP Online store and they buy something I will mail you a check for $10* (US Dollars). How's that sound?! Yeah, pretty money, eh?! So get on those referrals...

Here is a brief artist rendering...

 > Trackback URL
Ohh yeah, I forgot to tell all of you who I meet at Fenway last week ;-) So here's Tom Caron from NESN, saw him on Yawkey way last week and just had to get a pic. Unfortunately I couldn't find anyone to hold the new mega digi cam to take a pic of the two of us, no worries. I'll get one this season. I'm going to enough games, I'm bound to run into him again.

Cool guy, real nice. Not an ass like some other people on tv.

I can't wait any longer.

 > Trackback URL
Two more days until my car comes back looking like this! Same wheels, same bumpers, same underbody spoilers. Can't freakin wait. Getting into that accident was the best thing that could have happened. Ha.
  1. I didn't get hurt.
  2. My car is coming back pimped the hell out.
I don't know why the insurance company didn't believe me when I said that my turbo was damaged in the accident, or my priceless collection of art... Not to mention my stereo that was stolen wile it was in storage. Ohh wait, I know why they didn't cover all of that. I made it up and they saw right through it.

And for those of you that have that "shut up it is only a crappy ford focus" mentality. Get bent. The car looks hot. Where can you get a car for $9,700 that is going to look that good. Last time I checked the Chevy Aveo rang up around that price and totally looks homotacular. All my car needed was some rims, tint, lights and an accident to make it this hot.

Lesson to all of you : Crash your car and get it pimped.

Getting the focus back this week!

 > Trackback URL
Here is a pic just to show you what the focus is going to look like when I get it back this Friday. New bumper, new ground fx package, replacement 17" wheels and low profile tires, clear euro side marker indicators and a whole bunch more. I can't wait to get my car back! It is gonna be so pimp.

Yet more new gear in the MMP Online Store.

Tuesday, April 19, 2005  > Trackback URL
Man, I've been productive recently.
Last night I updated the MMP Online Store with yet another classic design for you guys. This ones comes from the political line of t's. Introducing the all new "Last time we listened to a talking bush we wandered the desert for 40 years" shirt.

Starting at just $13.99 at the MMP Online Store.

[click to be taken to item]

Here is the larger graphic view of what is on the shirt.

I'm not even sure why I'm bothering to tell you guys when new products hit the store. It isn't like you're going to head over and buy anything.

[Insert Random Rant]
I'm sitting here at Panera waiting for my sister to show up and I just noticed something completely insane. Every single old bastard that comes in here attacks the free sample of bread. They don't just take a sample and walk to the line to order, they sit there, have a freakin conversation with the 3-5 other old people standing there and continue to devour whatever remains of the free pumpernickel or whatever sample of the day they have. Then they get to the checkout and bitch that there isn't any sort of senior discount available to them. Wow, I hope I never get old.

Props to Caitlin for the shirt idea. Thanks!

Anonymous Anonymous : That's because novelty shirts are lame.

<3 Blake

Blogger Dave Amirault : Oh my Blake. You sure do know how to cut me deep. Now buy a shirt.

Sometimes it is fun being the IT guy.

Ok, sometimes it is fun being the IT guy here at the office.
Since it is after tax season and the server system has been ridden hard for around 3 months straight I haven't had time to really go in there and perform any regularly scheduled maintinance, full system images & backups, etc. Since nobody is really in the office this week I decided to do it all during the day since the workload is so light. So I did the responsible thing and sent out a global e-mail to all users and here's what I got in return from Joe.

Our busiest day yet! Thanks!

 > Trackback URL
Allrightie everyone, yesterday was the highest hit day MMP has ever seen. While I'm not going to give out specific statistics I am going to drop a little graph-like knowledge on you so you can see our 30 day trend averages.

Yesterday, both MMP and the MMP Online Store had their busiest days ever. I'd just like to say thanks to everyone that comes back time after time to read about the non stop nonsense that goes on in my life. Hopefully you find this entertaining, and according to my metrics system you are...

And since excel spreadsheets are no fun I figured why not show some pretty pictures! Here is the 30 day trend for MMP, as you can see things are steadily creeping up.

But now for the amazing stuff. Here's the 30 day trend for the online store. You can obviously see when google and yahoo spidered the site because the traffic went through the damn roof. I know it isn't from you guys because nobody that checks the blog on a regular basis is buying shit from me. That's right, I know when you guys click from the blog to the store you freakin deadbeats. BUY SOMETHING ALREADY!

Thanks again to everyone that comes back day after day to MMP. And if you're a stranger to the MMP online store, head over and buy something already. If I've been supplying you with non stop blogertainment for the past two years you at least owe it to me to drop $13.99 on something politically incorrect!

Sox Vs. Yankees

Thank god baseball season is back. I took Andrew to his first Sox vs. Yankees game ever last night for his 22nd birthday. A good time was had by all. It was free fleece blanket when you signed up for a MBNA credit card. Last night, Andrew and I collectively got 7 fleeces and two sox gym bags. Pretty freakin sweet. I can't believe they let me fill out a credit application and put my address as 123 Fake Street.

Now that is a good lookin group! What can I say, the Amirault DNA is good stuff to have.

After the game, Andrew decided it was time to break out the harmonica and make some money begging for change. He didn't make a single cent, maybe he should take some harmonica lessons.
