Box your own damn food!

American food portions are ridiculous. You order something at a restaurant and they practically bring a forklift out to serve it to your table. Now, since I cannot eat a metric ton of food during dinner I request my waiter to package the remainder so I can bring it home.

This is what they throw on the table. WTF is it now with restaurants not packing your food for you? What's next, the food is ready and you have to go get it ? Jesus, I can't eat all of it, take it back to the kitchen and package it up. Don't go back there and grab me this styrofoam and expect me to dump the contents of my plate into this thing and go on my merry way. I feel like such an asshat at the table forking the contents of a plate into this thing.

I was at the Olive Garden a couple of weeks ago and they packaged up my food. As a matter of fact, they even included utencils! The place I was eating cost 2x as much as the Olive Garden so I would expect their service to be at least 1.25x better?!? Guess again.

I swear, the next time a waiter does this to me they're not getting a tip.

I too find it annoying when they don't package it up themselves. What? All of a sudden it is my job as the customer to do this? I think not.

Personally, I like it that it's one less time some stranger touches my food. Plus, you can leave out those nasty garnishes that are all wilted and nasty when you go to eat the leftovers.

Most places in the shit state of Rhode Island do the same thing. I think the waiters are just too damn lazy to do it themselves.
